Need UL repair service shop

#1

Post by jamilgallo » Tue Jan 08, 2019 7:33 pm

Hello friends, Happy New Year. First of all, sorry if i am breaking any rules on this forum making this question. I was offline for a few years because of health and family issues. I really need a good mechanic shop that works with flatheads. I've been trying to contact Paul Friebus from American Cycle Fabrication with zero success. So, could any of you tell me someone reliable to build me a UL short block? The rest of the work I can do by myself, no problem. I did it many times.
Thanks in advance. Hello DD Frankenstein, Hello master kitabel!
Respect for the antiques!

Hi, I wish I could recommend someone but all those I've dealt with are retired. I think Truett and Osborn will do that kind of work but I have no personal experience with their engine building (although I've sold their flywheels for many years). (316) 682-4781 or info@truettandosborn.com
A word of advice on customs for goods entering the U.S.? If I recall correctly, any U.S. manufactured goods coming back here are duty-free. Be sure to tell Truett to identify the engine as your own property being returned to you when they ship it back.
Good luck with your project.

I think Truett & Osborn would be a good choice, they did a 50 pan bottom end for a friend 4-5 years ago, did good work.

Just an update. For those in a similar situation, I mean, in the need of BTSV cranckcases assembled with a new aligned and balanced cranckshaft. I've just called Truett & Osborn and talked to CJ. They can do the job, so I'd like to thank Kitabel and DD Frankenstein for the recommendations. I'm so happy I think I'm going to lit a Kretek cigarette and drink some cachaça. :D :D :D
