front brake cable install

installing front brake cable on my wla,,,,never played with one ...bike originally had a sportster front end...looking at pics is hard to see....does the cable lie in the groove on the connector for the brake lever and then go through the hole and lie in the other side groove...then the nut goes over them and kind pf pinches them in there ? of some one could send a close up of the front brake cable where it connects to the drum lever? cable seems big in diameter to fit in the grooves ,but.....

Here's a picture of mine:
Front Wheel LHS.JPG
Put the nut on the brake cable cover. Then take the wire and feed it through the hole between the threaded tapered part, which points to the cable cover and the end where the pin goes through the rectangular end. Loop the wire so that the end comes back towards the tapered end. Slip the nut over the ends of the loop and tighten the nut onto the tapered end. That locks the brake wire in place.

Sorry about the blurry picture, but it shows what you want.

Do you have the right sized cable? It is smaller in diameter than later cables like the Sportster brake used.
