It's the 9/16" HD as they used from the factory.
I tried the 1/2" HD, but like the 9/16 better, and they are plentiful at the swap meets. My pan has the dual caliper setup on it and I use the stock 11/16" with that. Easily locks up the front wheel at 60mph(don't ask, still gives me nightmares, but we both escaped unscathed)
By the way, the Bike is for sale, the 47, that is.

I see that some later MCs are as small an 1/2", but as we go to smaller bore we lose lever travel, so like most everything else, size does matter, and its a balancing act to get it right.....

RD, Size indeed. Buddy had a Norton a few years ago with the early Lockheed disk on it which was worthless in stock configuration. Tried one of the HD MC's, 1/2" I believe and it transformed the brake, it actually worked pretty good after that.
